Laminex tables, and stainless steel bench around the windows. Located opposite "Duffy's", slightly hidden from the street, but once you get into the aracade it's obvious. Can eat-in or order take-away.

Hainan chicken and rice. Steamed, skinless chicken breast. Slices of raw cucumber and tomato. Rice steamed in chicken stock. Simplicity and purity. Superb. I oughta know - I've been eating it 4 or 5 times a week for 10 years! John Chan serves plenty of other delectable dishes, but the chicken and rice is the jewel in the Singapura Eating House crown.

Very clean. Surprisingly fresh, authentic flavours. Doesn't look much from the outside but the focus is all in the food.

First thing I noticed was how spotlessly clean this place is! Although the menu is limited (not suitable for a veggie craving or vegetarians), the food is extremely tasty & well presented. The Hainan chicken doesn't have a fleck of fat to be seen which is a great choice if you're watching the waistline. The daily specials I've tried were fantastic & the service fast.
