Marigold, Haymarket, Sydney

My husband & I eat here almost every weekend - sometimes twice. We always start with the pork & egg congee which is served in a "just right" sized bowl. Then my favourites are BBQ calamari, sticky pork, garlic & chive steamed dumplings, prawn dumplings, pork with black bean & mango pudding - all done so well. Best Yum Cha in Sydney & better than Hong Kong! Keep it up Marigold!

Bismillah Indian Restaurant, Surry Hills, Sydney

I love the food here. A large serving of 3 meat curries and rice for $9.50 + a massive garlic naan for $2 is the way to go. (My personal favs are the Beef Vindaloo, Mango Chicken, Butter Chicken and Lamb Korma) YUM! Very friendly and accomodating staff.

New York Restaurant (CLOSED), Kings Cross, Sydney

One of the cheapest diners in all of Sydney! Reminds me of the old 1950s-style Australian diners that have all disappeared now. Great good. Great service. Incredibly low prices! They are from the 1950s too! Yeah, it looks like a government-run soup kitchen from the outside but from the inside, it feels like home. Soup just like mamma used to make. Juicy steaks. Great meals! Shhh....don't tell anyone else!

Thai Namic, Leichhardt, Sydney

This Thai Restaurant has to be my favourite thai place so far, The atmosphere is soothing and romantic but also family friendly, the staff are happy and accomodating, the food quality is second to none. I recently moved from Newtown to Leichhardt and i honestly didnt think id find better Thai than whats in Newtown but to my surprise I stumbled across Thai namic and havent looked back. My Partner and I are so happy with this place we are actually working our way down the menu and have almost finished. Highly Recommended

Lars, Hyde Park, Adelaide

Went there with the kids for their "Schnitzel Night". Great food and amazing value. Only thing better than the food was the coffee. Leo roasts his own coffe and it is to die for.

Singapura Eating House, Surry Hills, Sydney

Hainan chicken and rice. Steamed, skinless chicken breast. Slices of raw cucumber and tomato. Rice steamed in chicken stock. Simplicity and purity. Superb. I oughta know - I've been eating it 4 or 5 times a week for 10 years! John Chan serves plenty of other delectable dishes, but the chicken and rice is the jewel in the Singapura Eating House crown.

Sicilian Pizza, Browns Plain, Brisbane

Sicilian Pizza is a family owned small takeaway restaurant. Although the appearance of the shop is not the best and it is not situated in a good location the food is fantastic. They have a few small tables and chairs to eat in but takeaway is recommended. There is only a small Pasta menu but an extensive Pizza Menu. The owner is a lovely Italian man that is very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended. Dont let the Appearance turn you off.

Tang's Chinese Seafood Restaurant, Shellharbour, South Coast

Whenever I'm in Shellharbour, I can't miss a feast at Tang's. I really have tried every single dish here over many years & love them all. Dining in is a no-brainer with the awesome banquets that finish with a choice of dessert: banana fritter & ice-cream, house-made fried ice-cream with a crispy coconut shell (my fave) or cheesecake. Don't go past the braised seafood combination served in a potato basket or the Peking Chicken. There's always a friendly face at Tang's - some have been there for decades! The Tang family has moved on now, but there's still a great family feel to the restaurant & very child friendly.
