About Me

Age group: 30 - 35
I love to cook but don't have the time during the week so eat out quite a lot. I like places where the meals are cheap & have healthy options. Occasionally, when the mood strikes me, I will have a high end, high fat or high sugar indulgence!

UTO
Reviewer rated this venue:

After 3:30 pm UTO (Ultimate Take Out) have take-away containers that are only $4.00! If it's Friday night I grab a few for the weekend. Amazing quality food comes out of this shop. I particularly love the chicken pasta (with mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, parsley & shallots) & chicken Waldorf salad. The spring rolls are a bit oily (naughty snack) but stuffed with fantastic amounts of moist chicken & other ingredients. Staff are constantly friendly so I really enjoy being a regular here. Why would I bother cooking when it's this good, healthy & cheap?

Every piece of fruit or veg I have ever bought here is top-notch! It's restaurant quality as they supply restaurants. Beautiful cheeses, cured salted meats, ready-to-oven chicken & meat cuts too. Aged & imported balsamics & olive oils upstairs together with the pastas, sauces & various "anything Italian". I love the whole experience of shopping at Fratelli - the double doors at the entrance, the presentation of the store, the quality & the good value!

Nice selection of produce in this organic fruit, veg & grocery store plus cafe with a great sun-kissed aspect & very select but well executed organic menu. Coffee is good too. I love the vegetable frittata (served on a recycled paper place of course). Kylie Kwong is a regular here & I witnessed her buy the rice paper rolls after her grocery shopping. They've been promising a new exciting menu for some time so I'm looking forward to that!

This is very local to me so I've eaten here lots due to convenience. Good menu to select from but not super cheap. The food is fine & they seem busy a lot, but for me, there's something missing. I've had better & cheaper Thai food so for me, this doesn't rate as a week-night dinner & not so flash that I want to go here on the weekends. Yellow curry is awesome if you have a craving for meat & potatoes or good healthy option is stir fry with cashews. Prawn fried rice is lovely if they don't make it too oily. If you are specific when you order, they listen.

Very generous & tasty portions! Fantastic service. Great value. Very chic & comfortable decor. Thoroughly enjoyed my work lunch here. I had the soup of the day which was vegetable & finished with a lovely parsley oil. I think they certainly have the edge over similar venues in the area.

Beautifully presented & delicious food. Friendly service but they may have been short-staffed when I went there as a little slow (even though we pre-ordered). Attractive fit-out & very comfy there. Good teas & coffees to end the perfect meal. This place used to be called "Work Bar" but I much prefer the new name.

Only three, truely satisfying, quality flavours of frozen yoghurt are in store but they don't need anymore. Original, Green Tea & my fave, Pomegranate. There's variety of extremely well chosen toppings to accompany your chosen flavour (medium size $6.50 gets you three toppings included), I love plum compote (which is mashed prunes), fresh strawberries & halva! I enjoy the fresh-look furniture & feel very comfortable kickin' back here. Twitter available. Note: check out their nutritional info if you are on a diet. It may be 99.5% fat free but it's also approx 16.5% sugar! Still, way less than ice-cream & much better toppings! Also stores in Malvern, Bondi Beach, Surfers Paradise. You could impress with this dessert on a "first date".

This is simply the best Chinese bakery around. Great value & quality. There's the traditional red bean cakes, egg tarts & glutinous rice balls with different fillings but also a large choice of beautiful sponge cakes & slices in the front counter display cabinet. Anyone will find something they love here no matter their cultural background or age. I really enjoy the preserved vegetable & pork buns, sausage rolls & coconut cake. The seasame filled glutonous rice balls are perfect with a cup of green tea too. I'd stop here before going to a picnic, dinner party or hosting an afternoon tea at home with friends. I just ignore the service - it varies. Cash only & make sure to ask for a box for your goodies if you want one!

Reviewer rated this venue:

It is only possible to dine here for under $25 if you choose from the al-a-carte menu & share a 2-3 dishes. The food is fantastic but unfortunately the banquets & cushion room are way out of the price range for this "cheap eats guide". I like to sit downstairs where the dim-lit room has shelving adorned with the restaurants bold print table cloths, crokery & souvenirs from Lebanon. They have carefully created a true Arabian atmosphere.

Whenever I'm in Shellharbour, I can't miss a feast at Tang's. I really have tried every single dish here over many years & love them all. Dining in is a no-brainer with the awesome banquets that finish with a choice of dessert: banana fritter & ice-cream, house-made fried ice-cream with a crispy coconut shell (my fave) or cheesecake. Don't go past the braised seafood combination served in a potato basket or the Peking Chicken. There's always a friendly face at Tang's - some have been there for decades! The Tang family has moved on now, but there's still a great family feel to the restaurant & very child friendly.
